Default first trip

:shock: well let just say im glad its over but im looking forward to the next one
i had 4 picks and 4 drops all but one had some of the worst docks i have ever seen a blindside 90 in to a building with only the cab sticking out a tiny set up holly shit took 40 mins to get it in ops: but i got it no damage and from what ive learned on this trip is truckers are far more help full than the dock or wharehouse people they just stand around and laugh at you
and the when i do say hey can watch for me they cant speak english
then i dead head out of fl. to get corn in ga, and the corn is nasty moldy i call they buyer and he said load it and get here as fast as you can ok then 17 hrs straight adel ga,to byron center mi. 1089 miles hell my logs arent even here yet is it always like this
i got into trucking to feed my family not to be some super trucker i have a new found respect for all you old timers who have made a life on the road this is not an easy trade by any means are there any companies i scould call on that will look at a self tought guy no school for me i rode for free with a buddy and he touhgt me but he did theach me well at leaste i can scale and load my truck corectley i get out look all the time
i will say that i am impressed at they way some of you handel your truck
any advice would be helpfull thanks

kinda harsh dont you think
you have never driven the long hour before
i bet you have if you have been a trucker for long
every trucker i know has a story or two about a long run
i had 2 days off and was very well rested i dont do drugs just a red bull or two
i know it was not the smartest thing to do and was asking if many companies condon this type of run or ask you you to do this thanks anyway

17 hours behind the wheel is only asking for trouble, you mentioned you're doing this your family, what happens when someone pulls in front of you and you can't stop, and god forbid kill that person. No one is going to have sympathy for you, or go easy on you. I'm reminded of the driver here in Florida who drove for crete and hit the carful of kids in Lake Butler, he had been up for 34 hours, or so they say, and now he is facing 7 charges of vehicular manslaughter, maybe think about that next time you decide to run straight through just to make someone happy.

well if plan on hauling corn get used to those long hours. i do it every day i know what a pain in the butt it is.


on the other hand i would have a little discussion with your dispatcher or your driver manager. no offense but no rookie needs to be pulling long hours. i don't mean to sounds rude but that's just my feeling. wait until you get use to driving before you starting fudging your logs, or better yet try and not do it at all. for me sometimes i have to do it but more than likely i will just sit and call the receiver if i feel i am not up to driving it all the way. yah like i said its a pain in the butt at first and you need to stand up for your self and not let them push you around, because once they start to think they can just throw loads at you no matter what the time line is, they will just keep doing it. stand up for your self and tell then that you will NOT falsify your logs.

Stay on this site long enough and you will see the self proclaimed Gods come out in force to put you down for everything...lol Just remember to be safe at all times and don't let the dispatchers use you like a pawn!
If you were to talk to these guys on the radio, they would be the ones with the made up stories about a long way to go , but a short time to get there...lol Welcome to the industry and drive safe.....

No company that is professional and worth its name would ask you to do this, and guess who does the time for the crime if you get caught or kill somebody, YOU DO. They' ll just replace you with somebody else

It's one thing to bend a little to help dispatch out of a jam now and then, but you just sent the message, on your first trip, that "the sky's the limit with this guy."

This may sound stupid, but I always considered myself every bit as skilled and professional as an airline captain. And no airline captain would ever violate the regulations so flagrantly. You will not gain the respect of your superiors if you let them do abuse you like they have.
