Default A Good Trainning Company?

I was a Student at Schneider fininshed the school, and went through thier 4 days of slow manuver CDL prep in Charlotte NC those of us from Florida would have usually of gone to thier OC in Evergreen Al to do the 4 day CDL prep and then be ran accross the state line to test, and then be sent out with a OTR Trainner for 2-4 weeks, but due to Thanksgiving we were to go home be assigned a OTR trainner, and then go to Evergreen Al redo the 4 day Prep and then CDL test.
While at home 2 weks waiting on a Trainner to be assinged to me I had to call every day.On one of the calls I was told that due to a recent policy change concernning felony convictions I could no longer be employed with Schneider.
My conviction was for a 3rd degree felony back in 1989,,no drugs,,nonviolent,,victemless,,none of the usual red flag things.but it was a Schneider policy change.
To the point !! I was wondering if any one knows of any GOOD Companys out there that offer trainning..I have been approached by Stevens,,but have done some readding and have not found much good said about them,,matter of fact the genneral oppinion was RUN AWAY!!!! Have also not heard much good about Swift.Covanate.or CR England,,but these seem to be the Co's that are popping up on my job searches.
Due to my Schneider exspieriance I've not worked or sen a paycheck in over a month. So paying for a school is not an option,I dont even have enough for the deposit required,,
Any advise would be Most welcome.

First find out what companies will hire you with that felony and then from those find out which ones have training and do your research from there. Be upfront when talking to them so you do not end up in the same situation. Good luck

Thank you for the advise. will check on Werner
I was up front about the felony, and was told it being so long ago and such a minor charge everything was ok.It was exsplained to me that it was due to a recent Company policy chang that I was being let go.

Yes but they seemed the lesser of the evils out there when it came to trainning companys, and they had a 14/7 slipseat account that enerested me.Looks like I will have to take what i can get and put in my dues with Stevens till I can get the exsiriance required for a better company.

I would not go to Werner. I have talked to alot of their drivers lately and not a one of them are happy. Try Roehl, FFE, Millis.

Search this board and then call the companies 800 numbers and talk to someone there, thats your best bet.

Good Luck

Swft,,Stevens,,Covamat,,CR England
I have been to a few truckers forums and all have not much good to say about any of these,,but thses seem to be my choices so far.

Default Training

"Felony, victimless" There was a victim somewhere.
"which is the lesser evil? Swift, Stevens, Covenant, CR England" I'd say Swift. At least two divisions, if you don't like dry van, try flat.
Have you visited a Florida Worksource office lately? Isn't there a Florida Economic Development Department program that provides training for convicts to get them on the many-making job track? I'd ask about it. BOL

From what I have seen on this subject Swift and Steven are the two best of the four. If I don't go with Hunt Transportation I will be going with Swift.
