Well joining the armed forces was YOUR choice no one made you join...just as smoking is YOUR choice. Just as it is MY choice and obviously the choice of many many others to NOT smoke. It is my right to go into any PUBLIC establishment and breath smoke filled air, as I voted so that is my given right. And obviously congress who are the ones who in the end decide what laws pass are trying to make or keep the people who vote healthy. If you don't like it go cry and whine to them about it to change it just for lil ol you. Cause thats all that matters right? RIGHT! I don't know about where you live but here in NM they held a vote to ban smoking in all resturants and public areas and it passed I guess the smokers couldn't be bothered to stop smoking the time it took to vote.

Maybe today but it wasn't that many years ago we had the draft and 10's of thousands didn't have that choice. And if Rangle (?) has his way the draft will be back. In addition ALL men are still REQUIRED to signed up for selective service.
As to banning smoking. Leave it up to the owner of the business. If the owner wants to ban smoking so be it. If he/she doesn't it is no business of the government to force him/her to disallow a LEGAL product. You as a consumer have a right to NOT use his/her service.
I have to wonder if anti-smoker feel so strong why haven't they got the law changed and make ALL smoking illegal?

Name: Karl Marx
Birth: May 5, 1818 (Trier, Germany)
Death: March 14, 1883 (London, England)
School/tradition: Marxism
Main interests: Politics, Economics, class struggle
Notable ideas: Co-founder of Marxism (with Engels), alienation and exploitation of the worker, The Communist Manifesto, Das Kapital, historical materialism
Influences: Kant, Hegel, Feuerbach, Stirner, Smith, Ricardo, Rousseau, Goethe, Fourier
Influenced: Luxemburg, Lenin, Trotsky, Mao, Guevera, Sartre, Debord, Frankfurt School.
"Marx believed that the downfall of capitalism was inevitable, and that it would be replaced by communism"
Now I do not believe in communism....I do believe on living a healthy life free of smoking....tell me how that makes me a communist? Now justruckin please tell the immature jr high to go play on the freeway so the adult can come out. Your childish snide remarks do not insult me at all, they do however make you look like an ass.

I had a couple thoughts about assertions that second hand smoke may not be bad for you.
1) "First hand" cigarette smoke is bad for you. There is no denying that. If you do, you have bigger fish to fry...
2) The lungs cannot filter out all of the bad smoke when it's "first hand" smoke.
3) As a result, cigarette smoke expelled will not be healthy for anyone else to breathe.

Geez. I read through the first few posts, couldn't stand anymore. This forum is full of some of the most grand standing, pompous ass, douche baggery people I have ever had the displeasure of remotely meeting.
In short -keep yours stinkin ass burnt smell away from me, my home, my cars, and anyone else who doesn't want it around them. Damn right it's a movement and it's about time. Don't waste your time showing me stats on how smoking isn't to blame. I know better, anyone with one eye and half sense knows better -those who do smoke don't care about themselves, so they certainly don't give a rat's rear about anyone else. Again, no need in trying to blow smoke up my ass about how ridiculous anti-smokers are, because I could give less than a fat damn.
Hell with it, if everyone else can be an asshole, I can to.
