Who makes the best value?
Given that I rarely have to run line and never have an assigned tractor I don't want to mess with something more permanent. I may also want to use it on my car during road trips.

I use one my brother gave me. I dont know what kind it is but I doubt if its expensive. Works fine though. I'm not trying to get out 20 miles, I mostly just listen anyway.

The Lil Wil by Wilson is suppose to be really good. Never used it myself.
The best one I have personally used was a radio shack mag mnt ant.

I used to have an antenna with a magnetic base when I hauled cars. It seemed to have better range when I put it on my head-rack. A guy told me once, that the head-rack acted like an additional antenna. I don't know if that is true or not, but it always seemed to have good range. I don't recall the brand name. I believe I still have it somewhere.

I had the problem of a fiberglass cab so it was a pain to put a magnetic on where i could find metal. i ended up buying a 4ft antenna and a mount that is made from a pair of vice grips welded to the mount then it just clips onto the mirror, it works really well ive never lost my antenna and it only takes me a minute to put in on or take it off..

Get a Wilson. Someone already mentioned,"Lil Wil". That would be my choice.
