Default What is a DAC?

I've been reading some threads that refer to a DAC. From what I can gather, its a driving record of sorts. Can someone elaborate on this?

Remember back in school when teachers thretened to put things on your "permanant record".....just like that, exept its your truck driving record.
basically, its like a credit report for your driving experience.

DAC services (USIS) is a company that compiles employment histories and can perform criminal and driving background checks on people. It is primarily used in the transportation industry.

Employment records that are on a person's DAC report are only ones that past employers have reported to DAC. Trucking companies are under no obligation to report anything to DAC or to use their services.

Interesting tidbit:
DAC stands for Drive A Check, or with the appropriate accent DrivAh Check.

Basically, it's a quasi-legal extortion racket the big outfits use to blackball drivers.
