Cite me the federal crime. Go ahead, pull it up. Go to the CFR website. If you can link me to it I will publicly apologize. Accoring to Roadstar online: "Q If you ask any trucker on the road, he will tell you that it is illegal to carry a firearm in a commercial vehicle. My state DOT says that's not true. The problem allegedly takes place when you cross state lines. Where can I go to get more information? A. According to CVSA, there isn't a federal motor carrier safety regulation that prohibits carrying a gun in the cab of the truck if it's the property of the driver. Hazardous materials rules prohibit the transportation of loaded firearms as cargo. CVSA notes, however, that state laws do apply. According to the National Rifle Assn., federal law does entitle you to transport a firearm "from one place where possession is lawful to another place where possession is lawful" as long as it isn't loaded and is in a locked container other than the glove box or console. Determining where you can legally carry a loaded gun apparently requires some digging. The NRA's Institute for Legislative Action offers some help at its web site, www.nraila.org. It has a Reciprocity Guide with information on state and some local restrictions for concealed weapons but, as NRA points out, there are more than 20,000 state and local laws governing the possession of guns. Also keep in mind that guns are generally prohibited in and around schools, government facilities, airports and parks. I'm also told that many companies (i.e. shippers and receivers) prohibit guns on their property. There are also federal laws prohibiting non-citizens and people convicted of certain crimes from possession firearms or ammunition." Further, a search of the FMCSA website for "firearm": "Regulations Search Results Search for Examples: Medical Form, 391.53, 391 All Regulations found containing "firearm": No Regulations Found" Even further, a global search of all FMCSA websites: "Search Results For: FMCSA Advanced Search Search Tips Searched for firearm . Search took 0.01 seconds. Your search - firearm - did not match any documents. No pages were found containing "firearm ". Suggestions: * Make sure all words are spelled correctly. * Try different keywords. * Try more general keywords."

I don't go to the Northeast, so Massachusets and New York don't concern me. I can, however, carry concealed in 30 states. I can carry it stored everywhere, as long as it meets the state regs. -p.
