Can I haul your freight?

I have a question. I have my own tractor and run under my own MC. Right now I do "power only" for a company ( We will call them BILL'S BIG COMPANY for protection). I have (pay) trailer interchange on their trailers. Mostly I am pulling BILL'S customers freight, but am having a hell of time getting the rate that I set for myself. Instead of sitting for days at a time (seemingly being punished) can I haul other freight using their trailer. Or do I have to ask their permission? I don't want to upset the cart before the barrel (if that's the saying) if you know what I mean. I'm really struggling and would be very grateful for any input.
Thank you.

if you have your own authority active, then you can pull power only for trailer manufacturers/brokers, trucking cos ( JBHunt, Prime, Schneider), onewaytrailers.com, DragonProducts. These all have daily power only loads. No need to be punished.

Some will allow you to haul a load on their trailer if they don't have anything they can put on the trailer. If you haul for one specific company it should be laid out in your agreement. You could also call the company for whom you are hauling and ask them.
