Congrats Michigan, hope it works out for you. Do you want to be overworked?

Look for a product called odor rite it does a good job nutralizing odors I've only seen it in gallon jugs. We also use lysol spray, lysol wipes, and windex and clean EVERYTHING!

So now I have a visual of two dogs greeting each other. :o Things have been leisurely. Maybe too leisurely - glad to see that changing.

Ford - underworked is good but underpaid is no good. I'll probably have to supplement income somehow.

Monday I'm being sent to dispatcher school. I understand the first class is called "HOS rules and other lame driver excuses". The second is "Sitting and waiting builds driver character". I dunno man, I dunno.

So, one day into my new gig and I learned something huge today. As a dispatcher, I was once a half decent driver. :)

So what yer sayin is that drivers should try their hand at dispatching once to see what goes on there and understand why dispatchers can be such PITA's to them?

I guess. But don't think I'm saying dispatchers are in any way human! :) It is harder than I thought it would be though. That good paying load that ya just had to grab has a nasty way of leaving a truck in the middle of nowhere with a long deadhead and everybody that says they'll call you back in a little while is lying through their teeth. I can't complain though, it's nice to get off the road for awhile.

That's what I'm saying Michigan, drivers don't always understand or want to understand why a dispatcher did what they did. Sounds like a thankless job but having been on the road you know how that goes already.

I enjoyed my short time of
Being a dispatcher

If it takes more than 2 hours (which it never does somehow), then you can pay me a token wage, otherwise it's on the house because I'm every bit as stupid as I look". And you guys denigrate union workers. hahahahahahaha

I turned in my notice yesterday. I've had enough. Besides the fact that 3 stinking trucks in a row has got to be some kind of an omen, I've had my fill of not getting paid for work I do. Yesterday I did 288 miles at 38 cpm and worked a 12 hour day doing short hops. I could make more at a McDonalds. At least my first job paid $10/hr for unloading with a one hour minimum and the average stop took a half hour.

the #1 reason why i never drove OTR. I like getting paid for everything i do. Hourly pay is the only way to drive.
