Here is one I will never forget. I was stuck in the backup. The next day I couldn't believe what I read in the paper. I always had thoughts of pulling over and confronting people who cut me off, but this story will make you think twice.

Deadly force is allowed but if you have shot someone three times in the head, they are obviously dead on the first one, no need for two more. A good lawyer could possibly save you but it could easily get you a murder charge. If you shoot them in the leg then a lawyer can argue that they kept coming so you fired again, good chance of getting off as self defense. It depends on where you shoot them and how many times you shoot as to whether it can be considered self defense or not. I know it used to be here that if someone tried to break into your house and you killed them, they had to be within the residence to be considered self defense. If they fell backwards out a window or door and landed outside it was considered murder or even though the door or window was broke open.

UPDATE: CB Rambosis . .
Man charged for trucker murder | Chicago Press Release Services
I don't use a CB so I can't imagine getting into this situation but I guess the tailgating could happen to anyone . . what would you do? |
great thread!
I've been doing my runs without a cb for the last few times and its killing me.....or so I thought. Example: I was in Helena Mt and drove 10 miles east, west, north, and even south to find a TA or like truck stop. NOTHING! They don't have one in the whole city. Sure would of liked a cb so I can ask someone and another example: when I go over the passes in MT I sure would like to ask someone how the roads are. BUT no CB. Now I read this thread and it makes me think I should not even get one. That way I keep my blood pressure low. All my customers know me and I go to the same places every time and it will not change. Plus: I'm sure I've pissed some drivers off cause my lights are so freaking bright on low been and blinding on high beam. But I can't fix that so I just do my job and drive. Now if I had a cb and someone spouted off when I am having a bad day, chances are I would spout back and so it would begin.....Thats something I need in my life.... I guess if I really need a cb I can get one and turn it off when I don't ask for questions....? But the more I think about it the more I realize it is not a MUST HAVE for me. I have been fine with out one and will be fine in the future..... The last thing anyone needs is a argument over the cb for something stupid after a long day of driving. Then throw in some back country highway with no one around but you, wild animals and a pissed off driver who wants to hurt you.....all that equals no good..... Sad story and condolences to the family....no one deserves what happened to him. |
It's good that they found him. I guess he will be 'away' for a good while. I wonder how they found him?
