I didn't know much about Duck Dynasty, until this controversy with A&E.
I don't have a TV, but never watched reality shows anyway when I did, other than a few Ice Trucker episodes, and some Alaskan crab trapper show.

Well he followed his love before the money. Per Bradshaw, Phil could have been a star in the NFL it seems but he liked fishin too dang much. Thing is, he's not a celebrity in his mind and yet many expect him to hold the PC line because they see him as a celebrity. As long as he stays true to himself like he has thru this ordeal, that's all that really matters. I don't hate or love him, I don't really care what his views are over that stuff so I don't have a thought one way or another on it or him. I have never watched the show but even if I did occasionally watch it, it wouldn't change anything for me.

Yuppies playing dress-up. And this is "reality" TV. IMO, the whole A&E thing amounted to a lame publicity stunt, although it apparently worked. Anyhow, fishing.. can't really blame him there. I like it quite a bit, myself.

I had to deliver a Partial load in the 90's to the Duck Commander Plant. Trust me what you see on TV is HOW THEY ARE in REAL LIFE. I took down a load of Reed Materials for them. Lets just say that was a blast unloading. It is a True Family run company and at that time Momma Kay was doing the cooking for the Crew and that Woman can COOK.

The cast has acknowledged that a lot of what they do is staged for the show. All of these reality TV shows have some of it staged for ratings. The only one that has minimal staging is Deadliest Catch. Even so, I'm certain they are still a hoot to be around.

I think all of these so called reality shows are scripted to some extent. My guess is that the producers tell them what he basically wants to see and the group gives them what they want. There are bound to be multiple takes. That in itself would involve doing more than one take.

Absolutely agree with you on that GMAN! I also think that by selecting which parts are shown ad which parts get edited out the producers of the show have a lot of power. They might ask certain questions (in a suggestive way even) and trigger certain behavior. Don't trust the 'reality' label one bit.
