Default Nothing like a "I told ya so" moment

Last week, my truck developed a "catch" in the steering. It was very minor, but it was there. Had the mechanic look at it and he said I didn't know what I was talking about, since I'm only a driver.

Well, this morning that "catch" is definite. Amazingly, its getting a new ps pump, gear box and steering column. Isn't that a lot to go out in a week? After all, I'm only a driver and didn't know what I was talking about only a week ago when there was nothing wrong with it.

Btw, this is from the exact same mechanic that told me an alternator was fine, even though the bearings were burnt out of it. That lasted 150 miles until it blew apart (literally). It only cost $450 to have fixed on the road instead of in-house.

I had my starter go out on me a few weeks ago. I stopped at a J for a comfort stop and lunch and when I went to crank her I got nothing. Called in and told road service I suspected it was the starter as I "have power... it just makes a terrible grinding noise when I turn the key." In my experience with previous cars, thats the starter.

Well, they get Peterbilt road service out to me and he pulls out jumper cables... I told him I thought it was the starter and had him take a listen.. to which he agreed with me. Then he told me my company told Peterbilt I just needed a jump. I told a few of our drivers that story when we were talking about truck problems and apparently our head maintenance guy feels the same way... we're just drivers and have no clue what we're talking about. If they would just listen to us they would probably save money in the long run... but.. what do I know.. i'm just a driver with a degree in business.

Yup - I only spend 10-12hrs per day behind the wheel, and 23hrs per day inside of it with it running. If something starts to go wrong, I know about it before anyone else. The shop definitely wouldn't know the steering has a catch in it when driving @ 65mph and turning to the left.

Me there is something Wrong with that reman Rear end you installed. Foreman your a Dumb Butt Driver who could not tell if something was Blowing Up. 4 Weeks later well that Rear end BLEW and I Mean BLEW taking out the Housing axle Shafts and then the Intermediat driveshaft Thru Shaft and the Front Diff all at one time. Seems Dropping the Pinion Shaft into the Spider Gear Ring Gear Assembly at 65+ is NOT good for them.
