I've only ever owned one truck, but it was a 1983 Ford Ranger. As for the best truck I've ever driven, it was a 2002 Volvo 770, 10spd autoshift, 465hp ISX (pre-emissions). That truck easily out-pulled freight across I-68 with a heavy load than any truck I came up against. While it out-pulled, it also stayed at 6.5mpg & higher overall. Only problem I had with that truck was both transmission cooler lines rubbed through (2 seperate times) and the X-Y shifter had to be replaced.

yep mate its a pity but some big mack companies here shifting to scania and reliable KWs,but yeah here new scania gearboxs giving concerns ,but there again catch this was going north other night heavy winds and tree (poplar ,dont no if you have them over there but like a willow very soft)crashed across road in front of me ,had to drive through it,broke both headlight protectors in truck ,bit of scratches and that.KW wanted $nz180 for each perspex protector,um what are they, ripoffs, can get stainless 1/2 inch mesh ones made for $90 for 2.and look miles better.like to know what they worth in USA

I'm not sure about that, but then again, what model of truck is it? Most of the headlight covers on your KW's aren't the same as on the ones made here in the US.

As for the best truck, I like the Kenworth T660 that I have now (company truck, though) with a Cummins ISX-425 and an Eaton Fuller straight 10 gearbox. It makes me wonder why I ever thought so highly of Cat engines.
