Celadon is on a shopping spree
Busy week for Celadon. First they bought out Martini Transportation out of Drums, PA and now they bought a big portion (I think close to 10%) of USA Truck. They're in talks with USA to merge the 2 companies.

USXpress is the company that is a large shareholder of Smith Transport.
They bought 6.4% of USA Truck, not USXpress.

Yes, it was USA Truck and it says Celadon is inquiring about taking over USA Truck's entire operation.

Gawd - got woke up by the Quallcomm going off with a fleet message that they bought out yet another company, FFE's dry-van division, American Eagle

Celadon now owns the Glen Moore side of YRC.

Wonder if they're still using the same tactics as they were using when they took over Burlington's business a decade ago. After the bankruptcy, it came out that the general manager of BMC (Burlington Motor Carriers) was paid by Celadon to run Burlington into the ground. (I was working for BMC back then) The manager and his private secretary got 15 years for industrial espionage.
I had not heard much about Celadon since then.
