Do you find that biodiesel causes you to lose MPG? I know that bio fuels contain less btu's but when trying to find out, I came across the following which did not make sense to me. I work on oil burners and the fewer the btu's, the more gallons used to heat the home.

Frequently Asked Questions

#13 Will I get the same power from biodiesel as petroleum diesel?
Yes, possibly more due to its superior cetane rating. Biodiesel does contain 5% fewer BTUs per gallon than petroleum diesel, but burns more completely than petroleum diesel. Therefore, you get more energy from the fuel with less pollution. Partially burned fuel creates waste and more air pollution.

5% unburned fuel seems like a lot to me.
