Default Long Day..........

Boy, I don't know how truckers log 11 hour days routinely. I did 11.5 yesterday and I'm exhausted. Of course my job in not trucking. Kudos to you guys! It did not help that I haven't been feel well.

One highlight of my day was in when one of our clients brought in homemade German food. It was a meatloaf, wrapped in bacon and cooked in a white wine sauce, German cabbage salad, yukon gold potatoes, and homemade fresh bread. It was awesome, what I had time to eat, which wasn't much, as I worked through my lunch.

Thanks - I'm starving now. Wonder if Subway has any of that?

As for long days, some are MUCH longer. Take my schedule for yesterday:

Woke up @ 1:30am, started driving @ 2am.
Arrived in Waxahachie, TX @ 6:30am. Dropped trailer, did paperwork, waited for the garage to open @ 8am.
Checked into the shop @ 8am and was sent to an International dealer in Arlington, TX. Left for them immediately.
Checked into the International garage @ 8:45am. Sat in the trucker lounge until 6:30pm.
Left the International garage @ 6:30pm and drove back to the terminal in Waxahachie, TX.
Arrived at the terminal @ 7:15pm. Showered, ate something they pass off as food from the vending machines, then headed to the truck for sleep.
Finally passed out around 10pm or so (couldn't sleep after being up so long).

Nope. Subway doesn't do that. Takes too long to wrap the bacon around the meatloaf... Or in their case, meatballs.

Of course, back when I was driving, I had a Burton Stove and a frying pan. Took a meatball sub back to the truck along with a small package of bacon. Wrapped the meatballs in the bacon and fried them till the bacon was done. Better than the way they serve them. Had the rest of the bacon the next morning along with fried eggs.

isn't that one of the food groups? I think it's right there with beer being part of the whole grains group.
