Ugh - crappy couple days are ahead of me
I remember why I hate the north-east...
Delivered a load in Taunton, MA this morning @ 6am. Finally got a preplan @ noon. I have a 2 stop pickup, with the first in Randolph, MA, which is just south of Boston. I then have a pickup in Brooklyn. The load delivers in Statesville, NC.
What really sucks (besides the area, going into Brooklyn, the traffic, etc) is that my first stop picks up @ 11am tomorrow. The stop in Brooklyn picks up the following day @ 9am. Doesn't that sound like fun? Going into Brooklyn for a rush-hour pickup?
Bah - I hate this stupid job sometimes.

It keeps getting better - just did a quick look at the tolls (no EZPass in the truck):
Throgs Neck - $35
Verrazano - $70
Plus whatever it is over to I78 in NJ, plus the NJ/PA bridge
This blows a big fat hard one...
I swear, this is why I want my own truck, just so I can say no to crap like this.

I did. Well, took a load to Corpus Christi, then to McAllen, then to Laredo. Once in Laredo, I picked up a load coming to Boston. Hence the pickle I'm in.

Don't quote me on this cause it's been a while since I was there, but I was "there" alot. Use to, you didn't have to pay the Verazano going out, it was just going in and I am assuming you are going in on the Throgsneck and going out the Verazano. It may have changed since I have been there but that will save you $70 if it is still that way. Maybe somebody on here who knows for sure will correct me if I'm wrong. Don't know if you've been in there before, but don't let it depress you, getting to places is OK if you have a good city map, it's the sitting in traffic that is the hard part. issedoff::banghead::ranting:

The plan is to stay at the last southbound service plaza in CT until around 3am and try to get into the pickup location before the traffic gets horrible. But ya, Throgs Neck in, Verazono out is the route.

hehe - out of the 3,000 or so Celadon trucks, with most of our freight in the south, it'll be tough to pick mine out of the bunch.
