Default Moving day - WTF?

Where did I get all this stuff?

I think my tools multiplied when I wasn't looking. And the kitchen is just as bad. I don't think I'll move again until they dig a hole for me.

Don't know how long you've lived there, but most of us have a bit of "pack-rat" in us. We can double the possessions we have in one year.

I don't know the feeling from personal experience but I do know that I don't want to move now. I hated moving in and out of dorms at school, everything would fit in 1 car load of a Honda Civic, it's that I hated going up and down the stairs with a handful at a time. When the wife and I moved into our house 4 years ago we got real lucky. We only had to go 50 feet and we had very little possessions to actually move. That stuff was already boxed up in storage in the shed so it never moved. Here 4 year's later, we've acquired lots of items to outfit the house, it would take a large U-Haul truck to move now vs the few trips we made moving in.

I started filling the truck yesterday, tools first. Of course I approached the work with the reckless abandon of an 18 year old. That's the manly way to do it, right? I finished the job today with a buddy's help and it's a good thing he's a good guy because I haven't been able to stand fully upright since getting out of bed. lol

Next time either the undertaker moves me or if I'm still breathing I'm hiring a crew.

Due to divorce and loss of of house becasue of same, I moved last month. I'm almost glad I told her to take everything. Moving wasn't that bad but next time I move it will be in a pine box. Tools, also, were the first thing that got packed and then some strategic planning into what got packed in the moving van first, ie last to be unloaded. Living room was closest too front door and last thing that needed to be unloaded.....I needed my bed setup!!!! Happy with the apartment, great harbor view and a 2 minute commute to work. This beats the 35+ minute ride I previously had.

I've thought about moveing to a ranch style home but have to much stuff! I've been in this house for a little over 20 years and have it filled nicely. I have the basement filled with wood working tools, and when my son moved out his room became my office/gun room. When my daughter moved out that became my wifes' sewing room. I also have a 3 car garage that I can only fit 1 car in due to all the tools and equipment. So I'm staying put!

Well alrighty then! A fellow woodworker! To be honest I'm a wannabe. I've dabbled but got derailed. Count to 10 in the morning using your fingers and try to do it again at the end of the day. That's the sum total of my woodworking knowledge. My plan is to put my workshop in the basement too. I've got a few things to work out (like running electric) but at least the basement is dry, that's a good start.

Btw, when I stand today, I reach a point where I'm about half way up and back spasms hit like an electric shock. I reach for the arm of a chair to steady myself and slowly straighten until I'm almost standing upright. For the entire walk to the fridge to grab 12 ounces of medication I'm sure I look like a very old man walking with a stick up his azz.

Just lol at me. Tomorrow will be better.
