Celadon is going to EOBR's
#1
Got a fleet message yesterday. Starting May 16th, they'll be scheduling all of our drivers in for training on the EOBR's. They're estimating 6 months for the entire fleet.
Personally, I can't wait to get rid of the comic books. I run legal anyway, so it shouldn't (that's the key word) affect me much.

I dont for the life of me understand why so many of you are in such a hurry to hand over more control. EOBR's wont be the end of it. They still have speed limiters and new HOS to throw out at you. They will throw this stuff at you until you cant make a living at this job anymore and they will keep doing it because people keep going along with it voluntarily. Keep giving and eventually there will be nothing left.

I'm already limited to the same 65mph they're trying to go with, so that won't affect me.
The hours of service proposed won't affect me either, other than the 30min/7hr mandatory break.

I think you will like it. I do. Only..... The good thing, you don't have to run log books. The bad thing, you don't have to run log books. It probably won't effect you, but it will come a day when you are racing against the clock. It will make you wish that you had a log book. It has made it a lot easier. Just log on/off, and not working the crossword puzzle every day! |
