I believe I already said as much when I stated that I didn't see how increasing the number of hours a driver could drive would increase rates.

It wasn't the number of hours to drive but the 14 hour clock. So how is EOBR's going to raise the rates? Be interesting to hear how someone would pitch that. Maybe something like this. My operation lacks the efficiency to compete because of EOBR so i need more money. If someone can sell that i've got a job opening. I get a good laugh everytime something is going to raise the rates.
They will eventually be required for everyone. No big deal, just adjust to it.

Obviously your deficiency is in understanding business in general. There are many carriers already using electronic logs/logging by gps/ect that are operating at a profit with the current rates. There is no justification for whoever pays for the freight to accept increases. Those carriers already operating under stricter compliance will gain larger shares of the market if others try to increase the rates.
Of course many people have to maintain the dream that one thing is going to make life better for them.
