I like the big bands of the 30's and 40's. They were elaborate bands that were very popular at the time. At one time I had a book of albums of the big name bands from that era. When I was a kid I could listen to those bands for hours.

I was weened on that music. My parents had Glenn Miller and his Orchestra on 33 1/3 rpm albums on the HiFi "tube" stereo. We had black & white TV then, and you would see lots of shows where they had Big Bands playing.
