A very good point! A business will do what they need to do to survive. It may not be the most popular choice but the have invested their money into something and expect to make a profit on that investment. Is that so wrong? Why?

If you want to get treated with respect, dignity and fairness by management you have to earn it not demand it. In other words take care of the equipment like it's your own, good customer relations, present yourself well etc..... If you do all that and you feel like you're not getting treated well, then leave and find something else, or create your livelihood, but don't bawl like a little b**ch for some one to save you.
Union or not, that's absolutely right, no matter where you go. That's probably what has screwed us over so badly.
As for paid lunches, I don't think that makes sense either. Paid breaks, I've heard of, but not lunch breaks.
