Default What the internet has done to the youth of America

Go to youtube and type in jessi slaughter and be prepared to see a sad little child of 11 years old. Her behavior must be a product of the enviroment she is growing up in.
You can tell I am bored as I have nothing better to do then surf youtube while sitting at the truck stop.

It's not just kids, it's adults also. Technology has given us instant gratification, and when people don't get it, they sometimes lose control of themselves.

you are right there are many adults who behave badly, I just have a hard time seeing it from an 11 year old. My dad would have kicked my ass from Goose Creek to Columbia SC if I had behaved that way. The internet was just getting known when I came of age and my dad was very stern about letting my sister and I go online and did not think twice about grounding us or using his hand on my butt to get his point across.

That's another thing, these kids aren't being corrected. I was never so happy as the day my moms wooden spoon broke in two. It didn't last long, she quickly replaced it and the "corrections" resumed.

my vocabulary was just as nasty as hers when i was her age. it turned lots of heads. i have a feeling i know what kind of living environment she's in. one with lots of verbal, emotional, and possibly physical abuse. however, posting those videos and that one about making somebody a brain slushee doesn't do her any bit of good. by doing that, she has basically asked the legion at /b/ to keep going at her, which is sad. i think her parents should have some kind of clue what she's been posting on the internet. on the other hand, i don't think they'll give a damn, because THEY DUN GOOF'D UP!

Rosty hit it square on the head. How about people stop blaming everything for the reason they have screwed up kids and instead take the blame on themselves for being afraid to raise your damn kids with respect.

oh yeah, the thing that really started all of it was the kiddie porn she was taking and uploading of herself in various stages of undress, and making claims of "f'ing until she bleeds." all in all, methinks she had it coming. i also think the local authorities should investigate her parents.

That is a big deal right there with me. I did not grow up in a military family nor was I in it when I was old enough but gosh darn it I have respect because my parents made certain that I had it. They let my littlest brothers slide on a whole lot of crap now but when I was their age I would get my butt kicked for some of the stuff they did, in fact I did get my butt kicked for it. My kids will have the same respect when they get older because they will get the same treatment I got growing up. The only problem with punishing kids anymore is that you can go too far and it does the opposite. They instead act out even more or they go tell the wrong person that you spanked them and suddenly the parent is in trouble. We live in a weird world these days, try to raise your kid right and you get in trouble, let them get into all kinds of trouble and your given a good parent award.............

Parents of today want to be friends with their children. They want them to be rewarded for poor performance. Many will give awards for their child losing a ball game or beauty pageant. Children don't know how to handle things when they find out that failure is not rewarded in real life. Parents have allowed the government to take over their child rearing. My or my...they have done a wonderful job, haven't they? I would not have dreamed of talking back or disrespecting my parents or another adult while growing up. I still show respect for others. It is the way that I was raised. I hate to think how society will look in another 20 years when these people have children of their own. It is a way to teach children that they are not responsible for their own actions. It is always someone else fault.

Idiocracy is a movie that sums that up quite well.

Another problem would be "kids having kids".
Instead of waiting until they're mature and financially sound enough to have a family, many young parents want to kick in the afterburner and "do it while they're young enough."
