Default been a long hard road but finaly employed

tell you what, was fired from risinger brothers 31 November 2008, worked seasonal work for leary plant farm from September till December, now finally got approved to haul containers out of Portsmouth to covington, va, and sometimes out of state. Might not be top of the line or the highest paying, but compared to unemployment it's a BIG improvement, also, keeps drive time under my belt should I decide to move on a few years down the road. Lets just say lesson learned and not going to make the super costly mistakes I made that lost my last OTR job. Now a question, since this job pays by the load, what things should I keep an eye on? it's 50/50 after fuel

Great to hear, seems the right coast is getting more action than the one I'm on.
I'm not a big fan of local or container hauling, but I would probably approach it more enthusiastically were it not for so many "1099-only" types.

Holy heck that's a nice little ride from one side of the state to the other, where are you pulling to, WestVaco in Covington? Good luck with it and good job.

see geeshock about to be one of those crazy can drivers going up I-64 huh?? lol naw man but i think it has to do with paper...Westvaco has a special drop yards around the 16 yard stick up there.. its a real nice road if you have a truck that pulls.. if you dont then get ready to do some shifting

heh, I hear you there, I've traveled that road so many times it's not funny, at least I'm not going to be climbing sandstone MOST of the time. They do have loads going to KY, and IN so will have to pull it every now and then but I know all about 64 and us 460, those are 2 roads I've done multiple times. BTW, if I can help it, I'm not going to be one of those crazy can drivers although I'll understand if the OTR's give me the space they give the other can drivers, lol
