Default I need Idea's

I'll try to make this long story as short as, I can. I got started in otr trucking a little backwards, I started as an Owner Operator 2 years ago and leased on with a company named Adam's Transportation out of Hammond, IN. I did Power Only for about 19 months with them (pulled about every kind of trailer out there to about every state in the country) Anyway, they went out of business and I signed on with another company doing the same thing and was there about 6 months until my Truck quit. Anyway, Truck is ready to go again and I am having a huge problem. Since Adam's Transportation is no longer in Business and no contact info is available and they didn't report anything to DAC companies I, apply to can't verify 19 months of my OTR exp. And I can't get on with most companies. I am going broke quick so, I need some advice ideas

Did you keep any settlement papers with contact info?
Did you keep in contact with anyone high enough in their chain-of-command to be used as a reference for future cases like this?

Apart from the O/O thing, I was in the same boat with this O/O I drove for who then sold his trucks in May of '09.
Luckily, the company he contracted the trucks out to is still in operation and I usually call them from time-to-time just to see if they still exist under the guise of a simple "Hey! What's up Chris. Long time no talk."

Essentially, you're going to have to go through any papers you kept and start digging.
Find names, then start calling, meeting at Dennys,.etc

My 2 bits.

I would assume that you kept records of the loads you pulled....and that Adam's Transport sennt you a 1099.
That should be proof enough, along with your log book copies. You should have some insurance papers some where as well.

In a situation such as yours you will need to jump through some hoops to get going again. As some of the others have mentioned, you only need to show them a paper trail, such as logs, settlement sheets, etc., Anything that has to do with your old carrier can help. Good luck.

there must be some way you can track down former owners of adams transportation, even if you have to call them at home, at least you could get a reference from them.

Default Thanks for all the suggestions

I told some of the companies that I applied to I, could give them fuel rec'pts ect. But, they didn't seem to want to accept that. They all wanted to call somebody........ I don't really know who ran Adams except his first name.
