Anyone know if you have to reatake the road test and all the other crap in the state of Kansas when you transfer your CDL from another state. I tried searching on the net., but really have no idea where to look. Thanks in advance

You try looking under Kansas DMV's website?
All I know is that from my research into moving out of CA, I find it's as simple as paying a fee and getting a license in the respective other state your moving into, like myself fleeing CA into AZ. I wouldn't imagine Kansas isn't all that much difficult as far as CDL transfer.

I've changed states twice. From AZ to VT then NC. Both times I just transferred my CDL by paying for a new one. The only tests I had to take was my Haz-Mat like the last post said. Just like a drivers license.

I live in Il. currently, and they make you take the written and the ROAD TEST, like everybody has their own truck to take the test in. ****, I hate IL. Bunch of corrupt bastards.

That sticks if you have take the road test. About 3yrs ago I moved from Wi. to Ca and was first told by the Ca. dmv that I would have to take the road test. I lost a possible job because of it just to find out a few weeks later that I didn't have to take the road test just the all the written test.
Good luck

I think that it varies from one state to another. Since the CDL is supposed to essentially be a national drivers license I don't see why you should not be able to turn in your old license and get a new one in your current state without having to take any tests. I have relocated in the past and have had to take the written portion of the test, but never was asked to take a driving test. Perhaps it has something to do with the length that I have had my drivers license. If you need to get a license in a new state, the best thing to do is to find their licensing office and get a new one, regardless of what is needed. I doubt that you will be asked to take a road test.
