At least he didn't use the "dynamite." If I understand correctly, that would have deleted ALL his posts.... and then NONE of the threads would have made any sense anymore! He was against that, so I'm glad he didn't spoil it all when he left.

The reason Rev doesn’t show up as a member is that he changed his status to “guest” when he left. He didn’t kill any of his posts or screw with anything when he left. He just had enough and took himself completely out of the loop. He and I exchanged a few PM’s after he left and it was just the right time. Things were in a bit of an upheaval in his personal life and he was fed up with a couple of posters. The Going Postal thread was the last straw. Moderating ain’t easy…it takes a really thick skin (which he had) and a very large tolerance level (which he ran out of). I don’t necessarily agree with the way he left, but I can certainly understand the reasoning for it. He’s welcome back at any time and perhaps someday will rejoin CAD…he’s the only poster I’ve ever known that could be effectively anti-liberal and anti-conservative at the same time. Like him or not, no one argues the middle ground better than he does. But if he ever does come back, I don’t believe he’ll ever want the ‘pleasure’ of moderating again.

Thanks for clearing things up TF. I dont have a problem with the way he left. He was obviously upset and he could have blown things up pretty badly if he wanted to. He didnt burn any bridges as far as I can see.

When it comes to message boards I try not to get too worked up. I used to get a little twisted but it's just not worth it. Who cares what people you don't even know think about you! Besides that, words on paper don't always come thru like they would if spoken in person so sometimes one doesn't even really know where the other person is coming from. Time heals all wounds and I suspect someday he will come back. They always come back! Someone here once stated trucking is like Hotel California. CAD is the same way, you can check out but you can never leave.

I'm the same way. A little about me. I am plain spoken, honest and I call it the way I see it, which is not good at times. I am also short tempered. It doesn't take much for me to "pull a John Wayne". At the same time, I like to joke, and most of the time, I'm full of beans.
With that said, there is one time I let my temper blow up. I made a comment, and I used a racial slur. There have been times where I got upset at some of the threads on here, but I just went to other threads, or logged off. Except for that one time, and I didn't walk away. I sent PM's to the Moderators, and I asked for their forgivness for my dumb-butt mistake. So, yeah, I always try to help out others, if I know I can answer their question(s), and I like to jump in with the funny stuff that goes on around here.

That's a good thing. If that was the case, yall probably wouldn't have any idea what I say. :eek2: I've always been told that Texans "jumble up" words, or they speak a lot of jibberish. :hellno:

Thanks Twilight Flyer for giving us the 'inside'. It's funny how Rev went out the back door, when he left. I had no idea. I figured he was like a lot of the OTR guys-just been busy. I guess you can't blame him.

Oops. I meant to hit the 'Edit' link on the previous post.
