for a site like this it's no big deal, we just miss a few messages, but for an e-commerce site, imagine the possible sales lost. Of course a dns attack on some bigger sites like cnn and amazon would take more planning since they generally use round robin. Simply put, every time you view the page your on a new server, and they use 6 or more servers sincronized together. Of course this is expensive and most mom and pop operations can't afford it so they have a website on one server. even more, they probably have thier email and other tools on the same server. I've see them try a DDos atack on just about any part of the server from the website, ftp, ssh, email, the list goes on. I do not envy what the computer security ppl have to go through. been there, done that, lol.

Looks like we're still getting "denial-of-service" attacks. Been watching the online traffic today, and it's been over 300 to 400+ (guests) throughout the day!
Normally these attacks are cleared out in 15 mins. to an hour of tech time, though some can be harder to clear out. That's usually the end of it, especially on a site like this. My guess is this is something more personal. Someone who has a grudge against this site has to be mounting these attacks, as they have been going on over 2 weeks now, and even though I see them cleared out by IB.

It is just this site. The other Mods. and I tried to blame it on Roadhog but Ibadmin says it is some kind of "DNS" attack. Whatever the hell that is. They have some good tech guys there and I'm sure it will be corrected soon. Just look on the bright side.......it makes it harder for me to "edit" your posts.
![]() Ridge may be on to something. I never do clean my computer, and if your reading this post, your computer is probably being infected by me right NOW! :block: ![]()

It's been doing that for a long time, and it has occurred on different computers and with different kinds of connections, and this is the only site that does this. Thus, I'm thinking it must be the the server company they lease space from.

They are trying to fix it. We need to track what is going on and let them know such as what we are doing when the problems occur. According to IB it is happening to other sites as well. It is very aggravating.
