Need good credit just to haul fuel????
#1
So I applied for a fuel hauler position for Love's here in Phoenix. I was reading all their fine print and it said that they would do a credit check among all the other background checks and experience checks they do on you. Does anyone know if this is true? I had no idea you have to have good credit just to haul some fuel locally! I can see if your gonna be working in their payroll dept. or behind a cash register but I dont know maybe I'm wrong? I been working on my credit but its still right in the middle, not good but not bad, so who knows we'll see what happens. Thanks all.

Good companies that pay well and offer benefits are more choosy who they hire.
They figure if you aren't responsible with your credit, you aren't responsible enough to do your job well. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

i think it has more to do with one's potential to be corrupt, and then sell the fuel for a profit. their thinking is that if your credit sucks, your finances must be in shambles, and therefore, you'd have a higher likelihood in being a thief.

From an employers standpoint it's not your credit score per se but what caused it. If you have default/collection/tax reports then it's just a matter of time before they are served with garnishments/liens and that usually means having to find a replacement when you leave to avoid the garnishment/lien. Theft from bad reports are further down the list.
