Default Sunoco sells home heating oil division

Sunoco sells home-heating-oil unit for $82.5M | Philadelphia Inquirer | 09/02/2009

I think it is only a matter of time before they sell off there trucking division too. It is a shame but outside trucking companys can deliver their fuel alot cheaper then sunoco can do it them selfs. With the pay and benefits they give there drivers.

That's right MackPUP! BP (as OTXpuppy will confirm) has by now probably gotten rid of all of their drivers. They shut the door in Indy this past November. BP's statement basically infers that they are getting out of direct marketing. The drivers call it union busting. I'm not really sure.

Marathon is the last company in Indy to have it's own company drivers. The rest is all jobbers.

Makes sense what you say though Mackboy. Why deliver a load and pay $1000.00..................when a jobber will do it for $400.00? Or for that matter-------if it's an OTR fuel load you can probably get it hauled for around $30.00 or so. What with all of this 25CPM nonsense that these guys are willing to drive for.
:micro:
Just sayin.................

So true.... Sun pays around 25/hr and the best bennies you can ask for. A big company around here is BRT transport. ( www.brtransport.com ) They only get 18/hr and ok benefits. So who can haul it cheaper??? Some of the so called coolie fuel haulers pay by the load too.
