that was a little over the top IMO, but NOW you have some valuable information about the accident. Mr. Freedog states that he imagines the driver was hurt after all.

So now you can continue to make fun of the guy and really look like a careless jack*****, or just sit back and say dang...I better watch my butt so I don't end up like him...

I'm not mad at ya hawk, this is just my perspective against yours. Just to prove it, next time your in the STL area, hit me up and I'll go to the pilot with ya, I'm no 20 year seasoned vet, but maybe I can give you some pointers on your backing in truckstops....after all, its prolly not your skills persay, its you not beleiving in your own abilities....I had the same prob my first couple years.

Some people take the internet way too seriously. Outkast, go take a chill pill, your putting words in people's posts that aren't being said.

Dejanh, what am I and others supposed to laugh at then? Do you laugh when comedians make jokes about people? Did you laugh when Leno busted on Bush for looking like an idiot in China when he tried to walk thru a locked door? Bush felt like a complete tart afterwards, were we not supposed to laugh at his misery for looking like an idiot?

I cant tell you what you can laugh at and there is nothing ,,comic'' about a scenario up there.

Bush was an idiot and always will be, Jay Leno or not...and he didnt get hurt by it. If he did i would not laugh.

how? when? where are your quotes for that?

I've tried the pills, they don't work....funny thing is, you are the one getting worked up, why is it that if someone disagrees with another person, its automatically a wound up fight to the death? There have been no harsh words exchanged with anyone who made a valuable statement. The only time there was anything different was when the BS leaked from the mouth of a dark colored lamb.

Also, thats where the problem lies, Its not the internet your laughing at, nor is it someones misery....when a guy trips up a step and is ok, its funny, when a guy wrecks a truck, possibly injuring himself or others on top of losing his job (most likely). How is that funny? Really...thats a real question...how is that funny?

Looks like all we have to do to liven up the board is post a picture of a Swift truck in an accident. Seems to bring out all the emotions anymore. That also helps to keep Swift in the LIMELIGHT, and perpetuate more of the same. Of course, if Swift were a better quality company, that would reduce considerably. Plenty of other companies have trucks wrecked, but they don't get the attention. Interesting.

A better company at what? profits? Customer satisfaction? Seems to me they aren't doing too bad.. but I am using an over all perspective for the phrase "better company".

Reduce what considerably? The condescending remarks? Highly doubtful... it would just move to JB Hunt or Crete or Prime or some other company, because that is how things ride. Its a way to make someone/thing look worse off than yourself.

how about the manner in which they treat their drivers. Their attitude towards their drivers. No, I have never worked for Swift, but I did drive for M S CARRIERS, which has been a part of Swift for a few years now. In talking to other former M S drivers that went to Swift, policies are the same. But at the companies I have worked, there were an abundance of Swift Alumni. Their comments comparing Swift to any other company put Swift very, very far down on the scale.

In the movie, "OH, GOD", the question was asked, "Why does GOD allow so much evil in the world"? The answer, "Without evil, there can be no good." It sets up a "STANDARD" for the other to be compared to. Since you have not worked for anyone other than Swift, you do not have a standard to compare them with. You only know Swift. Certainly, you have talked to drivers from other companies, but you have not been there. I am not trying to belittle you, but I am trying to be honest as I know it.

Yes, the condescending remarks, the looking down your nose at... And, you're right that it would move to another company. It would then signal that company that it's time to improve their standing. One way of bringing up the standards, isn't it?

Back when we all drove cabovers, companies that wanted to attract drivers would switch to conventionals. The last hold-outs ( like J B Hunt that also had "slip-seating") finally realized that in order to get drivers, they had to keep up with the rest of the industry. We used to see J B recruiters at nearly all the truck stops, trying to sign up drivers. Since then, they've picked up their standard, and you do not see those recruiters anymore.

When Swift realizes why their standing among drivers is so low, they have a chance to correct that, and the industry as a whole will be improved. The limelight will than move on to the next lowest company and the process will be repeated. Years ago, without the internet, it was the CB, and drivers talking between themselves in the restaurants. The process has been going on for decades, just like the "WORLD ECONOMY" has been coming on for decades.
