Pilot's have been a dump of a truck stop, Flying J was not far behind including the T/A, Loves was the same way Pilot is, Petro was THE only truck stop that more or less catered to drivers.

Unhappy

I miss the old pre-Pilot Williams, as well as the original pre-Pilot Bosselmans and many of the old Citgo T/S.

I don't see anything better coming on the service side.

I don't know, but seems to me that every ******ed special olympics person(no offense to anybody please) has to get a job at one of these locations. The wait times, the way drivers are being treated at these truck stops really lack a lot of customer service. It seems to me that we are seen as the most uneducated people around that need to be serviced. From past experience, i worked in a retail environment and give my best on servicing customers. The last day of my work there, i had people coming in to be served by me, since i would be leaving for the military.I give my best on what i did and serviced everybody with the greatest respect.

If they want to still be in the business, they should change their customer service attitude toward being more helpfull, expedient and friendly.

A comment to be forwarded to Flying J CEOs and VPs.

... and one of the reasons they don't do this is that they don't have to. Some places (like the Shell here in South Boston and the Pilot up the road in Danville) are still bustling simply 'cause they're the only thing in town, truck stop-wise. For us, if we go west, that Pilot is the only place we can fuel 'til we get to Troutville, Wytheville, or Glade Spring, so they KNOW they can depend on us to bring in some of their revenue, and probably other fleets that are in the same rut. However, go to places where there's some competition and see how they act, since folks actually have a better option than to put up with lousy service (or no service at all).

To bring all the J's up to Pilot standards the first thing they'll have to do is bulldoze half the parking spaces and build a Blue Beacon then fire all but one cashier for each shift.

But if they do away with those meatball-kabobs I'll never again darken any of their doorways.

dont forget about removing the drivers lounge and then taking the now half sized parking lot and filling it half way up with idle air now that they are talking of putting it in every pilot location.

They've announced that the two will remain separate entities, much like the T/A - Petro merger.

I stopped in a Flying J a couple of days ago in Georgia. One of the women told me that people from Pilot were coming in to look things over in a few days. It would be better for Flying J if they left most things the way they are. There are a few things that need to be changed, but Flying J caters more to the smaller carriers and owner operators whereas Pilot mostly caters to the large carriers. Perhaps they will get rid of the pizza and put in Subway.
