Avc I never said Led Zeppelin was not good, they were able to produce some of their own music as time went on, it is just dissapointing that they plagerized music in the early years to get their start, as I said I saw them in concert May 31st 1977 Greensboro, NC still have the ticket stub $9.75, It was a great show, however it won't compare to Pink Floyd Mile High Stadium April 18 1988, or even the Blues Brothers Red Rocks July 1980, I even enjoyed the Jethro Tull Aqualung tour I think that was 1979 not sure had a lot of those little purple pills that year. Over the years I have seen a great majority of the old rock bands at one time or another even saw Van Halen when they were the opening act for Ozzy & Black Sabbath.
Pink Floyd is ALL ORIGINAL MUSIC written and produced by the members of the band not copied from some old blues men, The facts or the facts and Led Zeppelin played other peoples music and published it as their own, in my eye that will always mean they have an asterick by their name, does'nt mean they were not good just dissapointing... LOL, guess what, Keith Richard or Richards, whichever version you wish, was a Chuck Berry Clone, Robin Trower and Stevie Ray Vaughn were as close to Hendrix in style as they could possibly get.
All of today's pop artists copy Wacko Jacko in some way or another with their singing and dance moves. That is the music business, Robert Plant's greatest influence was Elvis whom he loved, he imitated him in many songs and sang many of his songs, even said Shake it One Time for Elvis on a live recorded tune. All bands cover other bands tunes and beg, borrow and steal from the greats before them, that does not tarnish Led Zeppelin's legend with the fans, if it did they would not be the biggest band in the land for the last 40 years. PS: You can't compare Pink Floyd with Led Zeppelin, they could not even stand on the same stage with Zeppelin, nor could any other band in the 70's era.

you are right all bands do covers, But not all bands sings songs written by others and then publish on their album covers that they wrote them, Zeppelin did this with 95 % of their first album they are not cover songs because if you look at the album the band is listed as the writers of the songs they did not write them they took songs already around and created them to fit the band how original, and they failed to give credit to the original writers plain and simple.. Once again I like the band they just are not the greatest at composing music.
There was no comparasion to the 88 wall tour and Led Zeppelin's 77 tour The wall is a story a creation if you will the tour was the same. An amzing event to witness, I am sorry but in 77 Robert Plant sang and Jimmy played but the did not create any type of theatrical show to go along with an amzing album they played music. Led Zeppelin 200 millions albums sold world wide Pink FLoyd 300 million albums sold world wide just one quick google search showed those numbers Its all subjective.... Timberwolf

[QUOTE=avc;454923]LOL man, everyone who is a rock fan knows that Led Zeppelin is incomparable, there is no band that could stand on stage next to them.
Robert Plant, there is no singer better, not even Elvis, nor will there ever be. This just shows how little you know about music and how poor your taste is. Which given your political views shouldn't come as any surprise. 1. Different genre's, you shouldn't compare rock to pop. 2. Led Zeppelin wasn't even the best Brit band- The Stones sh@t all over them. Hell, the Monkees were a more important rock band than Led Zeppelin. 3. Best Black singers- Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Solomon Burke, David Ruffin and many more were/are better singers than Jacko. But Michael was a talented singer with a superb artistic sense, and as for his being weird- How could you grow up as he did & not be a little different. That he survived into adulthood at all is a small miracle. 4. What Michael could do was dance. Undisputably the best popular dancer of his era. I think Fred Astaire even said as much

After downloading some of Michael Songs that i've like from the past i noticed something..
I Think Most of his Hits targeted different audiences.. Billie Jean - Pop Remember the Time - R&B You Rock My World - R&B Beat It - Pop Your Not Alone - Pop.. Mike can dance his ass off with out a doubt and put on a performance, no one even comes close in that department but IMO he was an overrated singer, Who ever had the list with Marvin Gaye and So On.. Totally Agree..
