Has anyone out there had bad problems with ear buds ? I recently got a new phone, LG , and everybody says it sounds garbled, and like I have my head out the window. Have tried several devices, and they are all the same. Didnt seem to have the problem with a Motorola phone, so I called my provider and they are going to let me swap it out for something else. I have a LG 830, and really like it except for this problem. What kind of phone and bluetooth is everybody else using ? By the way I drive a 379 Pete and as we all know they arent the quietest on the inside. When I am sitting still people say it is better, but still not good.

Get you a Blue Parrot or (I think they call it) a Blue Eagle! I had a Jawbone but I went to the Blues Parrot on advise from a friend and Love it!

 

I have the cobra bluetooth which is similar to the blue parrot, I can talk to people with the window down, the radio going, and the cb radio going and they don't hear a thing but me!

 

Thanks for the replys, I have a Max 4, and a plantronics, but even with the Motor Trend I still get the noise. Talked to a tech rep from us cellular, and he said some phones just dont work well with bluetooth in noisy environments. They will let me try another phone, but they will not let me keep swapping phones untill I get one that works. Any boards out there where I can maybe find out what model phone works best with a certain bluetooth?

I have had the Jawbone and the BlueAnt V1 as well as a Plantronics and a Motorola. All the noise canceling did was cancel my voice along with the background noise. I don't like the ones that go over the top of your head. I prefer the ones that stay on the ear. I have had a Logitech bluetooth headset but I cannot find them anymore. It worked great all be it was not the most comfortable thing but it was bareable for a few hours at a time on the ear.

Anyone know about some other headset (over the ear not over the head) that works well in a noisy truck?

 

I use Blue parrott B250-XT with my BB curve. My wife says it sounds very clear and very little to no road noise.

Also the over the ear style is quite comfortable.

I drive a Columbia day-cab.

 

Thanks for all the info everyone, found out the problem was in my new phone. Had my carrier activate my old phone just to check it out and everything works perfect now.

I, too, have been advised to try the Blue Parrot earpiece. I currently use the second generation Jawbone. It is a good device for the most part.

My friends and I have deliberated heavily on the proper phone to use as a road driver, and we all contend that the higher end phones are the best for reception... I think that is sad, because not everyone needs a Blackberry-type cell phone. But over the course of several years, the PDA-style phones have given us the best reception.

 

I have the Samsung Rant, it is a medium duty phone I guess you could say, cheaper end of the price scale but just short of PDA. It works very well and I chose it for the features I use in a phone, well my major decision was because I could hook it up to my laptop to get free internet Downsize is it isn't the most rugged phone, so I never take it out of the truck unless I am going to be inside somewhere for a while. I had it on me one time while unloading and never again, it got so full of dust and dirt even in a holster, that now my buttons feel like they have dirt under them! Gets very annoying.
