Hmmmmmmm.....cars are running into the back of trucks...yet a uniform speed limit would not reduce that!!!
I thought Ohio was smarter than that. Guess not.
makes me feel all warm and fuzzy knowing such intelligent people are in charge

The IL house and senate once again passed legislation eliminating the split speed limit here in IL. Seen an article about just this last Friday. It is part of the next transportation bill. Other parts of the bill are still being debated so it may be a while yet until the full bill gets to the Gov desk. Hopefully he will sign it into law. The bill still allows for special truck speed limits in Cook county and the immediate counties around Cook though.

As mentioned before about Ohio, I expect IL to crack down on trucks, for a while at least, if the limit is raised to 65. Right now most state troopers in IL will allow trucks to go 62-65 in truly rural parts of the interstate (it is the locals and county cops you have to really watch) but if the law is passed I can see them start pulling over trucks at 2-3 mph over.

I think that it stands a good chance of passing since the governorship has changed. He was the stumbling block in the past.

You should have informed him that you read that info on a truck driving message board Mr. Ford! Then he'd have believed it, by golly!

GMAN spending too much time on the big One Nine again..............

Be glad to see it...but, as stated earlier, I think they'll be tough on anything over 65. I run Ohio at 60 all day long and troopers are fine with it...when it goes to 65 think I'll stay at 64
