Today???
Even SWIFT is enjoying "new-found" popularity?
Recruiters aren't spending the money on advertising for drivers anymore,
just looking over the applications that come in far more carefully...
I don't know of anyone that will. Too many drivers out of work that have good records.
I hate to say it, but you might try something like garbage pick up... Or, maybe local gravel haulers... And good luck to you there too.

Sorry to say but right now, with my experience job hunting in the current market, my answer is NO. There are just way too many very experienced drivers out there with squeaky clean records that are unable to find work.

If you want any chance of getting back in the seat, you're going to have to beat down a lot of doors and talk to everyone and their brother, but if someone offers a position your are almost in a position where you would have to take it, even if they are paying peanuts and drive a crap shack of a truck.

I will say that I have no idea how bad things are in your area, but if they are anywhere near as bad as here in N. Cali or a few other places I know of, then I think your chances of driving are slim to none, and slim left the building when you had your PREVENTABLE roll over.

You don't specify what type "tanker" you managed to roll.
However...do you really think a trucking company is going to look at you as a potential driver, with a "tank" roll over in your history? In today's job climate?

As "Tank" drivers, we are expected to be "that" much better, than a reefer, dry van, or flatbed driver. Simply because of the nature of the beast. Sloosh can be a beach.

The only time I would pull a tanker, is if it's water.

Not necessarily BETTER, Stan.... just more CAREFUL!! If I drove a tanker, I couldn't BE any "better" than I already am.... but, I'd have to be more CAREFUL. :lol2:

That DOES sound like a beyotch, man! Stuff happens! I think the responses you got were probably true as to the reality of where you would stand against so many other drivers looking for work.

Have you tried the O/O forums here? Have you been out looking for one? It is true that many of them won't care if you explain the situation. And also.... what kind of company did you work for? I kinda doubt they reported your incident to DAC. Still, you are supposed to list it on your apps. But, if there is no DAC record.... it would be up to you.

If you're not picky, and you just want to WORK again, I think you could. Go to the nearest PILOT T/S and take one of each of the little cards on the wall. Check the stalls for "flyers" from companies that look for drivers that way. Seriously. It wouldn't hurt to make the call and ask. Be sure to tell them ALL the details IF you decide to tell them at all.

Google "trucking jobs" and "your state" and you will probably find several HeadHunter type companies. They deal with ALL kinds of companies. Give them a call and be honest and thorough about what happened. See if they can help you find work. They get PAID for finding drivers who will work for companies that have trouble finding drivers! (If you know what I mean.)

Good luck driver. It may take some time, but you should be able to recover from this. But, in THIS market.... you will need to knock on alot of doors and make alot of phone calls!
