I wonder if Hoffa got Whacked in a truck stop ?

 

Few years ago at White's in Raphine, Va. I was sound asleep, only to be knocked completely out of my bunk by someone backing into the front of my truck. His drive tires had hit my right-front corner of the truck, pretty much destroying it.

He didn't deny anything and filled out all paperwork. My truck had to be towed to a garage for that one - it was simply undriveable.

The best/worst one I witnessed was at a Flying J in Dallas. When I parked, I noticed that a truck straight across from me was missing his right-front fender mirror and had damage on the fender. A little time goes on and a truck "tries" to park in the space beside the already damaged truck. The guy backing in doesn't do a great job, however, and proceeds to take the door mirror off the same side of the truck. That driver stopped, took pictures before he moved, talked to the driver of the damaged truck, etc. The driver of the damaged truck then proceeds to help the driver who hit him back into the hole. Done, right? You'd think...

The truck on the left side of the damaged truck pulls out about 2hrs after all of this happened. He had his tandems all the way forward, so, you got it, the tail swing DESTROYS the drivers side of the truck, from the drivers door forward. The driver of the damaged truck wasn't in his truck at the moment, so I wrote down all the info of the last truck to hit him, grabbed my disposable camera and took pictures of the whole incident.

When the driver of the now destroyed truck came back out, I walked over and met him before he made it to the truck and told him what happened. I felt horrible for him, but he was extremely glad I got all the information and gave him the camera with the pictures of the accident as it happened. He offered to buy me dinner but I refused to let him. He'd gone through enough that day.

 

A number of years back I got a new truck and set out on the New Hampshire - Charlotte, NC run. Got to the rest area just north of Charlotte and parked for the night. About 0200 I was thrown out of the bunk and the truck was moving from right to left. I opened the curtain and a truck had my bumper on the drivers side caught on the dot bumper on his trailer and was ripping it straight out, moving my truck sideways and giving it all it was worth. He finally got far enough out for the bumper to come off his bumper and he took off. I bailed out of the truck and started to run after him but he was in 5th and climbing. He knew damn well he had hit me and was leaving. I stopped about halfway through the parking lot and watched him leave, turned to my right and a UPS driver was sitting in his seat staring at me. It then occured to me that I was running through a rest area at 0200 and was stark naked. I quickly eased on back to my rig and threw on some pants before I called the cops.

 

I had somebody hit me pulling out of a parking spot at the T/A in Duncan SC. Which is a complete dump, by the way. Was watching T.V. in the bunk with the curtians closed and felt the truck start to shake. Right after it began to move the television fell out of the cabinet above the end of the bed and landed right on my shin, fracturing the bone. Thankfully the driver stopped, because ther was no way I was going to run after him. I was driving a cabover at the time and he pretty much ripped the passenger door completely off and managed to shatter the pass. side windshield. Did end up with a new truck though.
