I Agree With Everything That Has Been Said, But, And It Is The Big But.when Freight Slows You Get Alot Of Drivers, And Trucks, Fighting For The Loads That Are Left. This Will Drive The Rates Down Until The Rate Cutters Go Broke, We Had A Run In To Greenbay That Payed $2500 A Load, The Rate On That Load Has Come Down To $1000.you Just Have To Hope That Your Customer Will Stay With You And Pay The Rate, And Not Take The Low Road And Use Any Truck Out There Because It Is Cheeper.

That is what has happened in the construction industry, a lot of smaller companies have gone bankrupt because they cut their bids too low just trying to get work. Even bigger companies are falling from lack of work because of these smaller companies that are still out there undercutting them so badly. We had a job the other day that we turned down because the contractor wanted us to cut our bid by $80K. They wanted our services badly but the lowest bid was a company they did not want. Only way we could cut it by 80K was to ask us workers if we were willing to work for free for a few weeks.
