Schneider use to do work on i/c trucks major and minor repairs.....they are no longer doing this...and out of the 15(im not sure i think there is more) operating centers, they are doing limited work. Use to be able to get most things done at all terminals except 1 or 2. They have closed a logistics center in Atlanta, also terminated contracts of some o/o's in California(ive heard).............anything else ill update....

No, the company I am working for currently is hiring and they just bought their first tractor trailer. Seems in this troubling economy people are relocating quite frequently. Not sure about nationwide but the HHG moving sector is prospering where I am at.

Well, the thing about the grocery business, everybody has to eat. I don't think our company is gonna downsize. Not at this point anyhow. Sales are down, but not so bad that they need to get rid of drivers.

That's good to hear for you Jack. By me, McLane is being rumored to be shutting down part of their operation at the Fredericksburg, VA location. Mechanic next door was saying that his wife who works in the Food Prep area has been seeing and hearing bad things about their divison being closed down. Knocked their pay down, and took away benefits. Not totally surprising since McLane services fast food chains and 7-11 stores which the general population is cutting back on to save money.
