LOL Hey Freddo! Show me an instance in the past 5 years whereas I called you out about any of your schtick. I challenge you...............

Following message board postings? Nah, don't flatter yourself goombah. It was your choice to advertise your blog on your signature line with the caveat regarding the dull content. I just happened to agree.

Anonymity is my prerogative. Then again, I think we both know that's not the case my fenean foe.......

Now, back to the wet nurse Truman Capote.

WINDWALKER,
There are a few on here that live in FANTASY LAND. Please don't make them confused by explaining what the real world is.

Really?
$504 for working 24 hours a day for an entire week?
No sleep. No breaks. 24 hours of work to earn $72?
Brilliant indeed. You really need a new shtick.
Vito: I believe YOU have made a mathematical error. Even though Belpre (and many others here) think that ALL OTR drivers are ON DUTY and "working" anytime they are not at HOME, even HE doesn't insinuate that they "work" 168 hours a week for a total of $504.

I believe his "shtick" is that they only work 100 hours, so that would only be $300 a week. All of you out there that are only GROSSING $300/wk... please raise your hands.

Or maybe he refers to the 80 hours they LOG for a gross of only $240/wk. Let's see THOSE hands.

Or maybe still.... he's referring to those who only get PAID for 50 hours/wk at (less than) $3/hr for a gross of $150/wk. I doubt we'll SEE any of those hands, as they will have gone back to fast food work.... and probably can't afford a computer OR internet access!

Really, Vito.... you shouldn't give Bel so much credit! He IS from Indiana, ya know. :lol2::rofl:

No no! 80 hours would be illegal Hobo!

Refresher: "Work 80-100, log 70, paid for 50."

Right back ATCHA... but with no malice intended. :lol2:

There is responsibility involved in most jobs... and certainly in a "security guard" job. Risk?? These days, more convenience store clerks are shot to death over $40 in the register than there are fatal truck crashes. :eek2:

I guess it's all in what one is willing to do, but for ME.... being a security guard is near the bottom of the list. And yes, I've done it. And I would do it again IF I had to for my nonexistant family. (I don't LIVE in the real world, but I keep in touch.)

My point was that, IF I could ony make $10/hr, I would rather be driving a truck for it than most anything else I can think of. I would NEVER come off the road for a job paying no more than I make as a trucker! Yes, I love trucking, and like someone said, might do it for free if I could afford it. :lol2:

Besides.... according to Belpre and a few others, as an OTR driver I MUST work 100 hours a week. If I was getting paid for ALL my work, at $10/hr, that would be a grand a week!

Tell me you can make that working as a bullet dodger in a convenience store, or babysitting construction equipment in a "rent-a-cop" uniform with a big badge on your shoulder! :roll2::hellno:

To each his own.... but, to quote a standard religious idiom...

"As for me and my family...we will serve the TRUCK!" :lol2:

My mistake, Bel. Just shows how little attention I pay to your drivel! :lol2:

Oh, and..... a little refresher for you:

Working OR logging 80 is NOT illegal. You just can't DRIVE after 70*!! The last 10 hours in my example were spent in the CAB area of my truck (instead of in the sleeper,) and therefore.... according to the Rev and his sidekick MythBuster..... were ON DUTY!:rofl:

You better get up a little earlier tomorrow, Bel!!

* Actually, after taking a 34 hour restart, you can do ALL THREE within a seven day week.
