Same here. I like Coke myself. That rough smooth taste.

I can't be assed to be bothered with a new GNR album. The way I see it, they ceased being GNR a long time ago. Now it's "Axl Rose and the handful of people left in the world willing to put up with his BS". Maybe it's alright, maybe it's not. In 17 years of waiting for a new album, I've completely lost my enthusiasm for this band.
Now let's talk about this crapfest recently released by Metallica...

Actually, I think some of the new Metallica tracks sound rather "classic".
"Death Magnetic" is definitely a step up from "St. Anger". JMO.

Well, yeah, but is that really saying much? Maybe the album would've fared a little better if it hadn't become another victim of the loudness war... it's a bit ridiculous, because the production for the Guitar Hero version trumps the production for the studio version by a long shot. But while people don't invest in good stereo equipment, and use crappy Dollar General earbud headphones, and so forth, studios are going to butcher the production by trying to make it as loud as possible, to the point where everything drowns out and gets reduced to one jumbled mass.

"death magnetic" is horrible. i've stopped listening to metallica after buying "load" and thinking to myself, "man, this shit sucks! what the HELL happened?!" i'm one of those dudes who actually loves the black album. but, i don't like anything that has come out after it.
metallica is like the elderly people who cannot see while driving, and refuse to call it quits. metallica needs to either go back to boozing, or simply hang up their instruments. just like the old people who don't know when it's time to permanently stay the hell off the road, and give up their driver licenses. has anybody heard amon amarth's new album? i've heard several songs from it and they all kick ass. perhaps i need to stop into the nearest best buy and buy it. rev, your topic has been hijacked by the board terrorists. :smokin: |
