I probably only read about 20% of the board. I know from reading some posts that miss alot in other posts. Like the hazmat ping pong balls, I still dont know what thats all about. Anybody admit to reading every post?
The first thing I check is to see how many red squares I have received.....

Saying I read 20% isnt exactly true. Mostly I just look at the pictures.

All the little balls in the ditch looked like a snowplow went through... IN SUMMER. And, when traffic goes by that kicks up a bit of wind, they act just like those little STYRO-FOAM PEANUTS used for packing.

Story is true, but the driver was a woman. DOT didn't think she had a load on. A lot of drivers were laughing about that one for a long time afterward. I was one of them.
:roll2: Come on. You're better than this. If this actually happened, there would be at least one Google news story on it. Yet a search of "ping pong balls spill" between the dates of 1998-2001 brings up nothing. If something like that happened for real, it would be all over the news.

Not to mention hauling ping pong balls that way would be terribly inefficient.

Just to be sure, I also did a Google image search of ping pong balls spilled, and ping pong balls truck. Nothing relevant returned.

Produce at least one news story proving that this happened, or you lie. If a truck spilling nickels in Florida makes the national news, then a truck spilling ping pong balls should at least make the local news.

Going south up the Grapevine, my wife spotted the white stuff in the ditch. I didn't know what they were, and she said they looked like ping-pong balls. The scale was closed, and there was a truck in there with DOT and (I think) the driver standing next to it.

You don't believe me, then you don't believe me. There was also a driver that was stopped and blew something like a .7 alcohol, which is supposed to be impossible too.

I went looking for something else that has happened to me in MT, and didn't find that either. I don't know how much trouble he got into when he cut my Customs Seal, but I don't find anything about that on Google either. I would think it would not be the first time that happened, and I should find something on that, but I don't.

Seems Google doesn't cover everything.

The "ping pong balls" story has been truckstop counter folklore for longer than I've been in trucking (which is going on 12 years now). I heard that same story, exactly the way both you and ironeagle told it, when I was in truck driving school. Oddly enough, it always seems to be California where it has happened, yet nobody has even seen a picture of it.

It's an urban legend.

Ah yes, the ping pong ball incident.
First of all, this incident happened in France, and therefore you will not find the incident in question on any local or national archives.
But wait, there's more....

Was this truly something that has no moment and was this a moment with no prelude or persistence?
In considering "causation" of the universe, the modern metaphysical theorists do not feel the need to look back so far in time and instead look to "causation"
in every moment of time.
Afterall, it is just as big of a miracle to have created the first moment of time as it is to have created each moment of time.
Until we can understand how this moment came to be, can we then even begin to look to the first moment?

What if reality is not something uniformly shared? Reality might be a personal and unique occurrence for each observer.
When we interact, our realities can be intertwined. These realities overlap much like the harmony of a major or minor chord played on a musical instrument.
But also like two quantum particles, as soon as we are no longer entangled, our realities can once again diverge.
Where I have typed these words and you are reading this webpage, the universe is a symphony of its elements so far as each molecule is in some form of harmony
with all the others.

The question is not did the ping pong ball incident really happen, but rather why would anyone suggest this was not French in origin to begin with?
Anyone can plainly see these were no ordinary ping pong balls, by the very nature of the occurance and cover-up. These were quite obviously purchased by a French company making snorkels. These balls were the water stopper in the snorkel shaft. Although, after the spill, many were noted by the Authorities to be numbered balls, obviously smuggled by the Catholic Church, to be delivered to Bingo Halls. The cover-up really had more to do with the Vatican's power of influence.
That's all I'm going to say about that.

Wow... Another "newbie"... Just 12 years??? That's all???
That means you haven't come close to hearing half the trucker's stories yet...

The southbound scales are way BEFORE you start UP the grapevine.

And, did you MEAN .7 BAC?? That IS most certainly impossible! You would be DEAD! .24 is about the highest I've ever heard of, and that driver could not possibly have driven a truck! :hellno:

I don't believe there is ANY record of ANY driver ever being .7 and living to tell about it! And unless he was drinking IN HIS TRUCK, he would have never made it TO HIS TRUCK!

I don't personally know HOW ping pong balls are shipped.... although, I'm sure they ARE.... but, NO WAY are they not boxed up before shipment! This is TOTAL B.S.!!!!

Hobo, there you go again. If you ever make it to Indy for the Line 5 party. Ironically, I will be more than happy to introduce you to my former neighbor. He is a medical professional that has been sober for around 10 years.

He occasionally gives speeches to medical students regarding his former alcohol/drug abuse. He invited me to attend one of these testimonials at a local university.

Long story short: When he checked into his last detox, after chugging 2 (one half-gallon) bottles of vodka. His BAC was .76. Yep, that's right.....
.76 Basically they had to keep him in a medically induced coma/sleep for 2 weeks before they could even begin to do anything with him. One hell of a story to be sure.

So, it's not impossible. Dr. Golfhobo!
