Guys n Gals.....

Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of reading these boards. I grew up with truckers in every sense of the word.....dad.....brothers.....uncles...and now my fiance'. I ever drive briefly several years ago before that whole kids/married etc thing

Recently ....as in 8 days ago I was involved in an accident. A semi, pulling two trailers that NEEDS to remain nameless, was in an exit only lane and at the last minute decided he didnt want to be there and veered left into me, also in an exit lane though not "exit only" if that makes any sense. He spun me out and tossed me down the ramp a good 500 feet in alllllll kinds of directions in ways I never thought possible. He was doing 60-65mph when he clipped my back side:rolleyes: HE continued down the interstate albeit on the shoulder for quite awhile til he re-entered the lane of traffic and proceeded to leave the scene. He was eventually located down the interstate 10 miles or more. More than anything it saddens me that he would just leave the scene....not knowing how badly he injured me or the vehicle ya know? I would have expected SO much more from a truck driver. I have such respect for most of you out there...I've never had any kind of bad experience with any truck driver.

He claims he didnt "flee the scene" but that he was looking for a safe place to pull over. I guess the 2 exits and 1 weigh station he passed by werent deemed safe by him He made a foolish rookie mistake but its going to and has already, changed my life forever.

I wasnt real seriously injured nor was my vehicle, though both of us are considerably beat up. You have to understand my LOVE of the trucking lifestyle.....the trucks....and the drivers. I have such a great respect and admiration for ALL of you who drive. My question to you trucking experts here is...What are the ramifications for HIM in this.....besides the actual tickets he received? Will this appear on his DAC of MVR (I think thats right?). Will this end his trucking career?
