Wouldn't happen to be anyone in or around Sumter, Manning, or Columbia SC today that just happens to be going to NJ? Grandma is dieing in hospital and having a hell of a time finding a way up there.

Why can't you get a bus ticket? I'm not trying to be nasty, but I've just never understood people asking for rides from a messageboard, let alone other people accepting them. It's just got bad news written all over it.

And the "no money" thing just doesn't jive. You have/had a job, you're on the internet, you've got 'things'. You're not living under a bridge somewhere in a refrigerator box. You can't tell me there's no way you can't afford a hundred dollar bus ticket. Heck, you can take your video camera and/or computer to the pawn shop and hock it for enough to get up there and back.

Again, not trying to be nasty, I just don't understand it. It's bad enough asking for a ride on a messageboard, but anyone that agrees to giving the ride based on words on a messageboard, isn't thinking too clearly.

Good luck getting up there, though. Sucks when family members start passing away. :sad:

For the sake of argument, let's say there's a Jeffrey Dahmer / Ted Bundy / John Wayne Gacey wannabe haunting this board. He sees your post, agrees to pick you up and take you to NJ, then decides to turn you into a pulled pork BBQ in some deserted rest area.

Yeah, it's a long shot, but not as much as you might think. It doesn't take but one nutcase to seriously screw up your day.

Again, I just don't see the need to take the risk, on either side.
