Out of the possible candidates, I'd say it's most likely a reference to Young Guns II
I think there's a lot to be said for Full Metal Jacket when it comes to quotes. For instance..

this one, which didn't raise much of a fuss when used in the movie, but drew the ire of a considerably larger group of people when it was used here... then, of course, there were countless classic quotes by R Lee Ermey.
