Default CALIFORNIA TRUCK SPEED LIMIT A VIOLATION OF RIGHTS?

I am just curious, by having a split speed limit is not CA. in violation of my right to equal employment? Since a pick up carrying freight for hire can go 15 mph faster then my big rig, he can make more money than me per mile/hour and we are basically doing the same job. So therefore the state of CA. is santioning employment discrimination.....wish i knew a cheap lawyer..this could be fun!

NO one has the RIGHT to drive, be it a passenger car or a commercial vehicle. Driving is a privilege. As such, no, it is not a violation of any RIGHT to drive at the same speed as a smaller vehicle.

All "interesting" replies from people who've either never BEEN there, or have no idea what they are talking about. A commodity in ABUNDANCE on this board!

Simple answer, and an end to this thread....

The 55 mph speed limit in Cali applies not only to TRUCKS.... but to ALL vehicles pulling a trailer of ANY type!

Unless you are worried about competition from a pickup hauling a few cases in his BED, you have nothing to complain about. "Hot shots" in Cali, are under the SAME speed restrictions that a Semi is!

And if they are "for hire" or "commercial" they also have to stop at all weigh stations.

There are signs posted EVERYWHERE.... most of them in ENGLISH! Read and understand them... Here's YOUR "sign!"
