Reminds me of some of the guys when I was pulling wrenches. The trucks would come in gallons low on oil overdue for PM's and we would ask the Dispatchers why wass he not routed into a shop they would be like why the motor is still running isn't it. That ended when one dropped that main bearing.

Sometimes it can even be the little things..

This week I took my truck in to our shop in Olive Branch, MS because the A/C had quit cooling. The mechanic said it would only take him about an hour to change the compressor and get me going again. Sure enough, he did, my ol' freightshaker was cold enough you could hang meat in it, and all was right in my universe.

I finished out my 10 hr break and started up about 2AM the next morning for a delivery in Atlanta. Kinda cool that time of day, certainly didn't need air conditioning then. In fact, a little heat would be nice..

Where's the heat..?

Nothing but cold air from the vents. Shut off the fan but still getting airflow just from moving. Diverted it all to the floor vents so it wouldn't blow directly on me but still about froze my tiddlypom off before I found the problem: the jackass mechanic apparently thought that since I wanted the cab cold, it would be a good idea to shut off all four stopcocks on the heater hoses.

He's probably still snickering over his little joke. I'm just thankful he's not my proctologist.

Actually that's what I do every summer. Those valves don't seem to shut all the way, and it definitely helps the ac run cooler.

Hey, maybe in Summer I'll be willing to give it a try, but right now it's 45° outside, with snow predicted for Monday! LOL
