If the max length in FL is 65', I can't even take my Volvo 660 with a 53' dry van down there. Oh well - now I have a good reason to not go there (besides the fact that nothing pays anything coming out).

Their manual specifically states tha trailers over 48' in length, including 53' trailers, must be no more than 41' to the axle. They wouldn't mention 53' trailers in the regulation if they were illegal.

The "scalemaster"....is full of "feces". 53's are legal in FL and have been for years.

This wasn't by any chance the scale at "Tucker's Grade" just below the Pilot at Punta Gorda? If it was....they have had some of the "dumbest people" working there..... I know that for a fact.... I live very near there. If the "scalemaster" was wearing a white shirt with an embroidered badge....then he or she was an hourly dweeb. They are not "DOT Officers".....and they are not the brightest candles on the cake. There used to be one working in there that would constantly badger the drivers for the gas hauling division of Florida Rock & Tank to see their "bridge" permits....and she knew very well that every truck had one. The guys in the blue outfits with the badge and guns are the ones that know the facts.

Anybody else have any over length problems, in FL?
I never had any problem pulling a 53' down there....with any tractor.

I know the B** I mean woman you are talking about, when I hauled a bulk tanker there, she asked to see my bridge permit every time I went through, even if it was the same day.
