a trucker's strike set to start on April 1st?

I'm told that ATA and OOIDA are backing it. That 9 major companies are honoring it. And no one is trying to even guess how long it will last. My wife heard it on the news channel on TV as well.

I'm told that one of the issues is the "FUEL SURCHARGE". That the shippers are collecting the full amount, but that only a percentage is getting to the owners of the trucks. I'm sure the fuel prices are also al issue, but haven't heard anyone say that yet.

Is anyone else hearing anything about this or not?

I've been on strike for almost 4 weeks now.......oh yeah, nevermind, broke my wrist....as Craig Shomaker says......ERASE, ERASE, ERASE.

 

Yes, it's a TRUE story. The news, channel 4, in Tn) said, both ATA, and OOIDA, are involved. The stike is to start, April 1. It is about, the fuel surcharge, BUT the truckers that the NEWS people were talking to said, "they were, mainly striking over the high cost of fuel." I was watching the story myself. Hope this helps you.

 

Actually, OOIDA is not involved. They released a statement that they were not advocating a strike, but would simply support their members.
