One of the bests posts ever regarding the " Strike ".
HAAA where have you been the last couple of weeks. Seems as though the March 24th date is everywhere. EVEN GOOGLE!!! Type in Truckers Strike March 24th and see how many topics are on that. I believe it will happen. Also on the CB today I heard that Swift has pretty much confirmed that they are going bankrupt along with Schneider.... Don't know if thats true b/c I do not drive for them, but one driver mentioned it over the radio.... This from another message board... ( I was banned 6 months ago, but it's not hard to get banned there either )

Well you know what they say. If you heard it on the internet, it must be true. Or was that the CB? Either way, it's a done deal. I'm going to head to Wal Mart right after work and clean off their canned goods shelves.

swift is indeed turning down their trucks from 65 to 62. there was a qualcomm message about it today directly from jerry. he says they'll be at 62mph until the fuel prices substantially drop down. customers have also been putting pressure on swift and other companies, to reduce their costs.
i suppose if i got on the cb and spread a rumor that dale earnhardt jr. is a homo, and that he was caught in the closet with jeff gordon. i wonder how many would take it seriously because they heard it on the cb. i've noticed that truckers tend to be the most gullible bunch, especially when they hear stupid rumors and other bs over the cb. even more so regarding certain companies, issues, things, and people they don't like.

"well, it's what i heard on da cb last night." "you are horribly mistaken." "i thunk you iz da one who iz." "you're an idiot." that's how conversation went. he had nothing to say after i called him an idiot. i really do think a dale earnhardt jr/jeff gordon closet scenario would go over quite well. hell, it may even cause a massive decline in the "sport" of nascar. with all the truckers out there who drive like they're in it, i would guess that 5/10 drivers would take that bs story as the truth. they wouldn't even check online or anywhere else to see if there's truth behind it. it was broadcasted over channel 19 and/or 14, so, it MUST be the truth!

Chennai, Feb 26 (IANS) A four-day-old indefinite lorry strike in neighbouring Karnataka has led to huge stocks of textiles, edible oil and other commodity piling up in the border areas of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of factory workers face the prospect of losing their livelihood. The lorry owners in Karnataka are demanding scrapping of orders for compulsory installation of inbuilt speed regulators in trucks as well as withdrawal of the 150 percent hike in the premium for third party insurance for heavy vehicles. The strike has led to huge stocks of textiles, edible oils, turmeric and cotton yarn worth over Rs.400 billion piling up in the border districts of Erode and Salem. Power looms have fallen silent due to non-arrival of cotton yarn and dyes, representatives of traders’ bodies said here. “We do not understand the motive behind the strike. Our members are the hardest hit because our enterprises are based on movement of goods through Karnataka to the north,” T.N. Kannan, a major dealer in textile goods from Salem, around 350 km from here, told IANS on telephone. Truck owners have a different point of view. “We have no option but to support the action of the Karnataka lorry owners’ associations because, like us, they have a genuine grouse. The speed regulator machines cost at least Rs.40,000 each and combined with the rising insurance costs, it has become a major burden for us,” said S. Yesudhas, president of Chennai Metropolitan Transporting Agents’ Association.
