T/F: When you first mentioned world nudity a post ago, I thought you were going to SAY so they couldn't hide the guns.

But, NOW I wonder what good a CCW permit would be??

The Conservatives will NEVER "go for it!"

As for the SIGNS..... Signs don't stop killers! GUNS do!

Oh but wait.... GUNS don't kill killers..... PEOPLE do!

Now I'm ALL confused!

The fact is, from hearing the first hand accounts from the students, not ONE person in that auditorium would have had the guts to stand and shoot it out with the attacker, so....

People don't kill people.... GUNS do!

Don't get your panties in a bunch T/F..... I'm just having a bit of fun!

Although I am on the record as being for SOME kind of gun control, I am NOT against CCW permits, and IF there were someone in that room WITH a gun, and the courage to use it, I would LOVE to have seen that he stood up, faced the guy down, and shot him DEAD!!!

I am sick and tired of all this "postal" shooting going on today! Although, I STILL believe that part of the problem is the ease with which someone like this gets so many guns.... I ALSO feel that we are getting REAL close to a time (perhaps retro to the 1800's) when the citizens MUST take up arms to protect themselves! God HELP us if this is the case!

That deal with the trailers sucks....but it also sucks that these people have been living in them for 2 1/2-3 years without taking much initiative to get themselves out and now they will probably sue the government and get more free money just from living in something they got for free in the first place. I would have a bit more sympathy if it seemed these people were trying to get out of these trailers. Its been a long time now.

From what I understand... there is just no affordable housing available. Lower rental apartments are non-existent. What is available, is costly.

Is there anything to connect the shootings with the FEMA trailers? I would sure like to see that evidence. The article didn't even say the shooter even came from a FEMA camp.

Jagar, I have read many discussions about the people who live in these FEMA camps, and seen some very good footage of reporter mainstream and non-mainstream try to talk to the people in the camps. The key word is try.

From my understanding, most of the camps are placed out in the middle of no where. These people don't have cars, and they have a bus that goes to the local walmart or supermarket maybe once a day for an hour or two a day. They basically don't have any transportation to be able to get to work and back each day when needed.

If they leave the camp, they can never come back to the camp. They have to take all of their possessions with them when leaving. They would have to have enough money to find a place to rent, and pay first months and last months rent if the landlord will even rent to them. The money they get from the government is basically enough to meet their basic needs.

The camps are heavily guarded and patrolled. The gaurds don't allow anyone in that doesn't live there. The footage I have seen inside of the camps are mainly from those brave enough to sneak in. Once in, many are so afraid that they will not talk to them. There are a few that do. I remember the one lady who did talk to a reporter on camera told about how hard it was to leave one of the camps, unless you already had money in a bank or a relative with money willing to help you out. That some where still believing the lie of the government that they will be able to go back to their homes. If they leave the camps, that they feel that they will never get that chance.

She allowed they to film the inside of the trailer. The person at the door could stand basically at the door, and see everything. These trailers are that small. Her things where stuffed in every nook and cranny. She did the best with what she had. She said she wanted to get out, but didn't have the money or transportation to really go out to look for anything. She felt that it was practically an impossible situation.

I think much of the problem arises from the homes that were destroyed probably had no insurance, and were old and in disrepair, typical of poor neighborhoods. The insurance companies sure aren’t going to pay anything to rebuild them, Besides what can you build for 30K bucks?
The city sure doesn’t have the money to rebuild at today’s prices either. Basically, although the people were poor, they did own the structure on the property. It did have value. The3 land itself has value. But seems no one wishes to determine and replace the value lost. They have no solution even after 2 ˝ years!
But FEMA has acquired 1000’s of poisoned trailers, and will spend millions more “parking” them. Created a huge new bureaucracy that is simply spending 10’s of millions of dollars, most ineffectively with no end in sight and no solutions.
The city will never be rebuilt. The people displaced, will never return.
……..
I saw a recent news program, saying rents there have basically doubled, and there are no available rental units .
